You know, I'm often asked the same question over and over again... "So what made you start this whole candy thing?" I get that my business is kinda silly and people freakin' flip out over their love for C-A-N-D-Y and my business brings out the kid in us all so I think it makes what we do a little intriguing to some. My response is often all over the place ( kinda like me) .. I've dreamt of having a fabulously fun business since I was 7 years old and just wanted to work, I love events, people and parties. I love decorating & creating something out of nothing too. I actually created this business that way, creating SOMETHING out of NOTHING and did it without having ANYTHING! I'm so proud of all the hard work that's gone into this, lucky to work with such a lovely team who I love and share my life with and I realize.. This is OUR moment! ( * Insert that super slow-mo Chariots of Fire Theme Music Here and Include One Single Tear Drop Rolling Down Face So, So, Slow) There may have been a little foreshadowing that happened when I was that little seven year old too because as it happens, this clip below is of my most favorite movie of all time and all I remember is that my parents used to take me and my brother to the video store on Saturday's and let us pick out a video to watch while they were hosting weekend dinner parties for their friends that would last until 2 am! I'd stay in their bedroom watching my old school Willy Wonka on VHS and I'd dream of licking walls in the hopes that they'd taste like cherry gum balls and just like Charlie- I'd hoped that one day I'd also get my chance to hold onto a Golden ticket and be given just one shot by someone to make all my dreams come true.. There are moments in your life that will define you and although my life and who I am will most certainly never be defined by a TV show ( I am already very aware of who I am, super weird quirks, massive imperfections and all) I am thrilled to have the opportunity to share a very special & fabulously fun business with the world to enjoy! No matter what happens, how long this thing lasts, where we go & what we do, I promise you one thing...

Candy Family!!!!

We've added yet another member to the candy mafia and we've waited over 9 months for this little guy to get here! My husband and I welcomed our son Christian George affectionately known as Lord Lollipop into the world on Tuesday Nov 29th and it was an unbelievably, emotionally over-loaded day! I mean, it's no surprise that it was full of tears, so much happiness and nauseating anticipation too but honestly for me, it's these monumental moments in life where I seem to take inventory on my entire life, who I am, how I've grown and where in the heck I plan on ending up.. I don't even know that yet but I do know that I never anticipated I'd be a mom and then become a mom again and SO QUICKLY!!! We've clearly got so much going on in our lives right now from working events, running our business, being a rapidly growing family and the anticipation of the season premier of our TLC show Candy Queen ( Monday December 5, 2011 @10pm-Totally Shameless Plug-you'd so do it too so keep it real) most people seem to look at me with either great excitement and want to ask a million questions while others give me a look of totally distressed confusion that reads- " How in the hell are you handling all this right now, are you insane?" Listen- I dunno how I'm managing all this stuff- we just are. No one ever said it was simple and somedays are really hard but again- when an opportunity of a lifetime is presented and one of your wildest dreams comes true, it's not like your just going to sit on your ass and eat pop tarts and complain all day- You do it baby and you don't stop until it is you get to wherever the hell it is your trying to get to and to be honest, i've got no freakin' clue where that even is or what it's supposed to look like! We just brought the baby home last night and I've probably cried 5 x already and am looking in the mirror every hour on the hour to see how much "less pregnant" I look! Baby number two did not disappoint and continues our legacy of amazingly thick, shiny, dark hair and once again another one of my children became the envy of the nursery when all those little bald babies laid their pretty little eyeballs on him and shook their heads at how unfair life is sometimes ;-)!

I'm trying to err on the side of funny right now because the truth is if I get too deep and too intense on what a beautiful moment this was for my husband, family and even two of our Candy Queen producers Steve & Gil and the sweetest production assistant you could ever know Jess-Ho (That's her name, I'm not joking) who joined the party for the baby's arrival with camera's in hand and the looks of urgency on their faces ( I've grown accustom to those funny looks and I love them).. I'll just get all emotional again and I'm trying to get all this damn crying under control. To all the nurses at Los Alamitos Hospital who were so nice to me ( Laurie, Beth, Catherine, Nora, Melissa and a bunch of others who had the pleasure of me NOT driving them nuts)- you ladies are my hero's! The things that these women do for us pregnant chicks is UN- REAL and I know it's just " doing your job" but every single one of these women said same thing at some point while I was there. They said how lucky they felt to have a job that was so special where they witnessed miracles every day and met so many wonderful women and naturally- I cried with a couple of them too because us women like to bond and share and talk about ourselves and cry together- and that's what I love most about being a girl! Honestly, I usually try and get the hell out of hospitals as quickly as possible because they terrify me but this experience was different and I was able to allow these ladies to take care of me and make sure my baby and I were A-Ok! Seriously, these ladies won't ever understand how much they mean to me so I'll just have to keep sending them ridiculous baskets full of candy and sweets on a monthly basis! My Baby Doctor ( Dr. G) Leslie Gonzalez, knows how much I love her and her staff.. she'll be on Candy Queen too so watch out for her- she can handle me and I've never scared her away with all my weirdness and that's why she's my doc and I'm her patient! I know I am missing plenty of other folks who helped bring Lord Lollipop into the world but it's not like I carried around a post it and pen during my surgery.. However, I thank you with all my heart and so does my husband who had the balls to bust out a flip cam during my surgery in the operating room and I wanted to freak out on him and punch him in the nuts but couldn't because I was so knocked our from the drugs and terrified! Anyhow- we're home.. we're all good now.. in pain but all good and I thank you again for praying for us, caring about us and our fabulously fun adventures... I'll probably be pregnant again in like a week so no- fear.. we'll have more baby news soon! I'M J-O-K-I-N-G! I need a break and would like to go back to looking "normal" again.. at least for a while...

The Hollywood Candy Girls were tickled pink when called in by some of our Fava Fave Clients at Hpnotiq & Harmonie to help sweetify the 2011 Victoria Secret Fashion Shows in OC & NYC! Harmonie served it up with the most delicious cocktails in town and the Biggest Super Models on this entire planet partied the night away watching the fabulous show & sampling all kinds of sweet candy & dessert treats. We created a Bling Bar for the Star Studded Event and as always, we had a blast.. And then we all ran home changed clothes, went to the gym and did 56,000 spin classes while the boss was in the hospital bringing Baby Lord Lollipop into the world. A most eventful day in Candy Girl Land to say the least! So grateful to be working our booties off!

In just a few hours my husband Chris & I will be heading to the hospital to bring our little boy into this beautiful world. I'm terrified but trying my hardest to not be, please pray for our family & baby and know how appreciative we are for so many wonderful & amazing gifts my entire family has been given in the last couple years from restored health to babies and opportunities of a lifetime! Whenever we've needed extra support I've asked for it and received so much positivity and love that it takes my breath away...Thanks for caring about my family. Funny how I don't know so many of you personally however, I've found so much strength in your kindness and if we ever have the chance to meet, I'll hug you like I've known you for all our lives. She's the type of friend that everyone should have and when we need to get to the front of a line or be first somewhere or get into VIP spots- we push her up front and we get in really fast, get stuff for free and are usually bumped to the front rows of things when she's around.. People are usually not born this lovely but she was and it's totally REAL!!! Jackie really admires banana for over-coming so much in her young life and they have a pretty deep sisterly bond.

He loves to work out, eat boring foods like chicken, protein shakes and something called brown rice and Quinoa..He's funny and silly and totally does not mind being around us ( even when we're in our super annoying- high pitched- hyper-active girly moods) He's Banana's Boy friend and they are nauseatingly in love and one day when they make babies we're going to sell them on ebay for 5 Trillion dollars because they will be like the rarest most beautifully chiseled diamonds on earth and people will pay a ton for them! We will sell to the highest bidders of course!

Adam is our Homeboy who makes the most insane stuff you've ever seen in your life-Our Candy Creations, Edible Art & Sugary Masterpieces would be unable to move, explode, sparkle, dance , rotate, light up, light on fire and basically have heart beats without him! Adam's brain is from another planet- and his brain is supported by the most legit head of perfectly styled man hair! He's got better hair then every single one of the girls too which says a lot about how important his luscious locks are to not only him but all of us! Joey is our Fun, Wacky, Football Lovin, Boy Lovin, Party Lovin', Life Lovin' Candy Girl! Joey is the type of girl who everyone loves and wants to hang with! Joey has the greatest laugh ever- it's Freakin' LOUD! She puts any dudes knowledge of football to shame. I think she likes some people called The Green Bay Packets or Packers or Pack Mans! Something like that! Joey, Cam & Banana all grew up together and are BFF'S Who somehow fell into the insane life of the Candy Queen and they are all now forever connected! Some people just exude fun and Joey is that chick! PS- She likes to work in Candy Girl Land like one day a week and is usually late to our party but we adore her anyway!

We don't know how to describe this little boy since he's not here yet however, his mother assumes he will come into the world with Sparkles, Glitter & Confetti Cannons Popping Off! He will Twirl, Do The Splits & Be Fabbbbbbulous! His father has another opinion though and thinks he will be pitching for the New York Yankees one day! All we know is we loved him the minute we found out he was conceived ( bow-chicka-wow-wow) and no matter what- he'll fit right in with the rest of us wether he likes it or not!

These are two of the most awesome, loving, supportive, funny and kind parents a candy girl could ever have! The Candy Queens mom and dad keep their daughter in check because she often needs to be checked and is a bit over-loaded with life all the time! He is like 1000 years old and The Candy Queen rescued him from a park when she was 19 years old and her parents kept him ever since. Mr. White is a very smart man, he is loyal & loving and so spoiled if you knew how spoiled you'd think the Grandparents to the Candy Empire were nuts. He only likes gourmet food, does not appreciate fire works or the rain or cameras & flash photography. He's Our Pal!

I know that to many people those who are overly positive, overly optimistic, overly encouraging, overly ambitious about life and overly into the idea of pushing others to see their own fantastic abilities to succeed can be thought of as overly nauseating BUT... I could personally care less. I've been nauseous with morning sickness for nine months- I'm used to it by now.

People that believe and believe and believe even when they fail and fail, and fail some more, experience a different outcome in life... Perhaps it's New Age Mumbo Jumbo to some but to me, this type of thought process and truly embodying this mentality has gotten me & my little family this damn far ( and what I mean by "this damn far" is we live in a candy coated condo and I own & run a very cool business and work my balls off so, don't get it twisted- there is no Fresh Prince of Bel Air happening here). I've watched the people in my life overcome devastating illness's & prognosis's, I've seen my own little family go from having very little to having something very special that was created without anything other then my own belief that we could this. I have seen people who were once pretty ruthless, negative and even cut-throat A-holes transform into better & nicer people (me included). We all know that every day certainly isn't filled with unicorns, rainbows & lollipops but this video below was so impactful to me that I had to share this because as sensitive & hormonal as I may be right now which is probably why I cry so easily-I know this will mean something to many of you too! I mean, if the over-dramatic YOU CAN DO IT- instrumentals don't hit you, the messages certainly will. Now go watch it- it's good for you!

I was having a really rough Monday and wanted to be honest about what I was feeling in the hopes that some of our friends, fans & candy family could help me through this shitty morning. My friends and family here at home are over me always talking about this too and I didn't feel like getting another pep talk from them all and sounding like an A-hole! Well.. I asked and received and am now thankful that other women totally understood where I was coming from and what I was feeling and I did not sound like some ungrateful jerk ( at least no one made me feel that way!) You see, I have this problem/ I verbally vomit my thoughts, feelings and emotions without a filter, it's the only way I know how to be.. When I need help, it's nearly impossible for me to ever ask for it but in this case I just felt so bad, I had to swallow my pride and do it. Years ago, if asked how I was doing I would have replied with the standard, "I'M FINE, I'M FINE, I'M REALLY FINE!"but we all know that's woman speak for... " I'm really not fine and something is bothering me.." Anyhow, I appreciate the kind words I received and all the sweet words of encouragement and even those of you who suggested I just take a bath and I let Calgon take me away.. That's nice and if I wasn't on my feet still working and so damn pregnant, I would have jumped right in with my Star Magazine. I appreciate kindness when I receive it and find it incredibly difficult to ask for it so this means a lot. And for the record.. having a baby is the most heroic thing that I think us women do in our lifetimes.. This is no joke and anyone who plays it down is worthy of a drop kick in the nuts!

I'm sitting here on a Saturday night with my family watching the ever- so -popular & sort of always ridiculous variety show, Sabado Gigante on Univision! It's like a Latino version of Saturday Night Live, Family Feud & The Gong Show & Playboy Chanel all rolled into one! This show comes complete with a bevy of super smokin' Hooter-esque mamacitas who dance around practically naked while shaking' their beautifully enhanced maracas (boobs) in everyone's face. I'm sitting here about to explode this 2nd baby out, totally exhausted, have massive heart burn & nausea and looking like the antithesis of these hot chicks who I'd love to see trip in their 6 inch hooker heels. (Bitter & Jealous? Hell Yes I am right now!) Anyhow,I look over to my my husband & dad who are playing with our baby and I think " This little girl will NEVER have a single "daddy issue"... EVER! She's dancing and mimicking the Hooter-esque mamacitas on TV and everyone's cheering her on and at this very moment, I realize my kid is surrounded by LOVE & some crazy guys who adore her like lunatics. I love that she has phenomenal men in her life ( Real Men! The kind that are loyal, loving and protective of their family and as much as I praise strong females, I thank God for this kid having such exceptional male role models in her life.) Her Grandpa Georgie & her Daddy are big guys who have no problem being silly, putting on bracelets, playing dolls with her or letting her honk & pull their big noses just to make her smile...

I've also just realized, "I think my ass is stuck in my office chair and... WOW, this is how I now spend my Saturday Nights, What the hell happened to us, we used to be so freakin' awesome, popular & fun !!!" But the truth is... I wouldn't trade any of this and I couldn't have ever imagined that life would have turned out to be so sweet & semi normal... Am I really starting to cry now? Yup! Here we go and that's my cue to sign off..

Afterthoughts...Filming Season One of TLC's Candy Queen! The Gift of a Lifetime & Unfreakinbelievableness!

Dearest Candy friends, fans & familia,

I needed some time to process how I'd explain the experience of filming Season 1 of our TLC show Candy Queen and at this point, I still have to shake my head several times a day and say- Wait! did that really just happen to us?" I'm honestly still simply amazed that many of you guys do the following:

#1- Know we even exist

#2-Like us enough to root for us and care about this little business & the ups and downs of our lives we so openly & often embarrassingly share with you.

#3- You "Get us" It's not just about candy and selling it or creating with it- to be honest I think I'd be pretty good at selling sparkly toilets if I had too in order to support my family! The message I really hope to convey to you guys most of whom are young women, perfectly imperfect moms & aspiring entrepreneurs is that if you want something bad enough, crazy as it may seem to most, yet you truly believe in the idea of picking yourself up off your ass after each and every failure while never hiding behind them rather owning them and learning a lesson with each of your life's major f-ups! You'll succeed, you'll get there and although we may never be filthy rich (Money's way over-rated anyway & My God, all the germs on that paper kicks my OCD into over-drive) the feeling you'll have created of achieving something on your own will supersede all the other dumb stuff we often think we need in order to feel fulfilled & valuable!

I know that it may seem weird to even comprehend what on earth you'd do if given an opportunity like the one we've been given. To meet the world on TV while you're so freakin' pregnant and feeling really unattractive & bloated. To be given just one shot to be on the only Network I ever wanted to be on and work with people who I truly can't say anything other than good things about and since wrapping season one, we all miss them and the new routines we fell into.

So as I digress as I realize I often do, and I tell you very little about what it was actually like to film episode after episode of Candy Queen, I'll say this. Sometimes you just know when something is so right, it's going to work and is going to be something incredibly special that may certainly change your world but most certainly does not mean it has to change YOU. The only thing I've ever really listened to in life other than my mom & dad is my natural instincts and intuition about people, places, things and situations..I don't have a college degree to fall back on, I have myself. My instincts have never failed me and while I am obsessed with TLC's New Show Long Island Medium which follows the spiritually intuitive Theresa Caputo- I certainly am no incredible Medium but since I was little I've had so many moments where I've foreseen my own future and when it's something good.. I run with it and don't question it. So what did I foresee? Well, you'll just have to watch & we'll wait and see if I was right I guess.

To all the people who were a part of this insane experience which is simply a Gift to us all, thanks for being yourselves and treating us all like family. My dear candy crew, I appreciate that you did not find it necessary to touch up your make-up all day long ( no diva's allowed rules are highly enforced in candy girl land) thanks for being completely open and laughing, crying, stressing and pushing your creativity to a level of brilliance that is incomprehensible to most. I'm so proud of all of us and I get that this is simply "Show Business" to some but to me & I think to most of us, it's about having created something so insanely awesome & being a part of a very small group of people who get to live this experience together while holding onto who we are and never losing sight of that. We love each-other, we love our friends & family and are simply.. determined to succeed!

Watch the show party people, watch it with your family, your kids, your neighbors, your dogs & cats.. your friends and their friends and when you go to Costco- do me a favor and watch it on all the giant TV's they are selling and turn all the channels to TLC.. At the very least- you won't believe what this team is capable of creating with something as silly as C-A-N-D-Y and you'll be entertained because the truth is other people's drama makes our own lives seem that much more normal right?

Oh and PS! To my mom and dad who are the real break out stars of not only this show but my life- I love you and so does everyone else which sometimes makes me a little jealous & kind of possessive but you're mine, mine, mine so I suppose I can learn to share you with the world too!

I say it often, I never thought that I'd be allowed to be a wife or someone's mother but now that I am and I am navigating through it as best as I can, I'd like to thank the big man upstairs for providing me with my first rad baby who's turning out to be a lot like me...Slightly inappropriate & totally unwilling to accept your NO for an answer! We're now entering a phase where our baby Snow White believes it's totally acceptable to strip down naked and wrap herself in Cashmere scarves as she travels in her leopard car seat! Do your lollipop thang' girl!

I have never been the non-breaker downer type. I react so emotionally to life it's comical. However, I have these people in my life and I admire their ability to be so composed- I'd love to know the secret! And please don't say Xanax- I can't take any right now!
